I grabbed a couple of sandwiches and headed to the tent with Declan and the hatchling in it. I needed to get this situation figured out and the two people most qualified to help me were with Steve. I could see Declan’s shadow on the side of the tent as I unzipped the door. I’ve always hated the smell of a tent as much as I’ve always loved camping. It’s like overcooked vinyl.
I stepped in and zipped the door shut. “What have you two been up to while I was gone?” I passed Declan a sandwich. “Did anything that I need to know about happen while I was busy?”
