She swore loyalty to him, but did he show any loyalty to her?

There was no suggestion that either she or Lucius had intended their prior failures, or been guilty of negligence, when Voldemort set up their son to *die* in order to punish them.

There are no reasonable grounds for her to maintain a loyalty to a man who did not uphold his half.

This, mind you, does not make her a strong woman. It does, however, mean that she has reasonable grounds to break her oath.
